'Mamma Mia' is the story of Donna (Meryl Streep) who is about to let go of Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), the spirited daughter she's raised alone. The island of Skiathos lies approximately ten kilometres off the Greek coast in the Northern Sporades, it covers an area of 48 square kilometres and has a resident population of 4,200 people.
This most beautiful off all the Greek islands is famed for its glorious sandy beaches (of which there are more than sixty!) and perfect Aegean climate.
Mr Photis Kofinas has lived on the island of Skiathos for 50 years and is an elected island councillor. Photis has an unrivalled knowledge of how things happen on the island. He has been looking after properties and interests on behalf of many foreigners for over 20 years.
Ms Christina Kofinas is the Dutch wife of Photis and has raised their family on the island. Christina speaks a number of languages including Greek, Italian, Dutch, English and German.
Mr Geoff Somervail is based near Birmingham in England and has been holidaying in Skiathos since 1986. He has subsequently bought land on the island that has been developed in to a fabulous villa.
Photis, managed the entire project from purchasing the land, obtaining planning permission, finding architects, designing and building the villa, landscaping and ongoing maintenance.
